The Prayer For Injustice
“Argue my case. Take my side. Protect my life as you promised.” (Psalm 119:153-161)
There is a deep human longing for justice in a world full of injustice. When we are wronged, something in us immediately looks for payback. It’s not fair. How do I get even?
The psalmist shows us a better way. There is a difference between defending yourself and taking revenge into your own hands. One is rooted in wisdom. The other is rooted in anger. This prayer does not ignore injustice. It brings it directly to the Lord and asks Him to act.
“Argue my case. Take my side.”
That kind of prayer requires trust that God sees what happened, that He cares, and that He will act in His time, according to His purposes.
Impatience leads us to take vengeance into our own hands, but it never frees us. It plants a seed of bitterness. The more attention it receives, the deeper it takes root.
Revenge feels powerful for a moment, but it slowly strengthens the very thing that poisons our souls.
Forgiveness releases the offense to the Lord. It doesn’t deny the wrong or minimize the pain. It does not eliminate the need for boundaries or wisdom. It simply refuses to let bitterness have the final word.
This psalm teaches us how to prepare in advance for injustice.
Bring it to God.
Trust Him with the outcome.
Choose freedom over retaliation.

Amén 🙏. It has happened to me at times and places like at work, when I know there’s some strife or tension going on. I have prayed for peace and wisdom before going in and forgive ahead of time.
The Lord used you to speak to me today… gently, compassionately and kindly. Thank you 🙏
